about

In Eldritch Errors, rarely can you take things at face value. Here is the exception, where the team behind the scenes can help make sure you're ready for what you're getting into.

physical events

At times, Eldritch might tempt you turn over a rock in the world around you to see if something slimy lives beneath it. Frequently, we hide those slimy things under particular rocks on purpose. Be careful around rocks, and be careful how you handle rocks. After all, people tell stories about slimy things that live under rocks because there really are slimy things living under some rocks.

episodic

One must never forget that many horrors lie in wait just under the surface of our networked world -- a blip on today's radar may awaken the monster of tomorrow. While some nightmares end, others are always beginning. Each episode tends to be a month to a few months in length, and there's always an opportunity for new people to join the courageous exploring the mysteries.

lovecraft

H.P. Lovecraft brought our attention to "that which man was not meant to know" in the early twentieth century. His stories spoke of the forbidden, the macabre, and unconscious knowledge. His horror was not hack and slash, but a journey inspired by a fear of man's place in an era of science. If man was doomed by the materialistic and mechanical advances of the early twentieth century, what horrors would Lovecraft have forecast in today's computers and networked living?

mature themes

This is not child's play. The universe here is dark and filled with unspeakabe horror. It requires a mature mind and, as such, is intended for the sensibilities of audiences aged 18 and up.

protagonist

As an immersive experience, the story is as much about you and your experiences as it is any fictional creation. You will find yourself interacting with others, real and seemingly real, throughout your stay. The discoveries that you make, alone or together, can change your entire experience. The world may have been conceived by us, but the story is yours.

computer security

Oh, the dangers that lie hidden in the bits and bytes swirling around us on a daily basis. The Sentry Outpost is filled with experts on all matters of computer security and, although danger will always be lurking in the shadows, the integrity of both your machine and your mind is of great concern. Don't fear your lack of technical prowess; there is always somebody close at hand with a deeper understanding of these matters, and you're always in a position to learn more. The question of "how" may often be asked, but it is no more important than the question of "why" - a question that even the most innocent computer user can answer.
